ABOUT THE BFCThe Bedford Family Connection (BFC) is a volunteer-run community organization that supports families in Bedford and the surrounding communities. Founded in 1988, our mission is to strengthen the community by nurturing families, fostering friendships, and supporting learning. While we offer a wide range of programming for families with young children, the BFC now supports families of all ages through social events, community partnerships, parent nights out, educational resources, and opportunities to connect with others. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to be part of our vibrant community: Family Memberships include access to playgroups, parent networks, seasonal celebrations, local meetups, and year-round activities. Friends of the BFC is open to community members of any age or life stage who want to support local families and enjoy connection through book clubs, social nights out, volunteering, and community events. The BFC is guided by a small Executive Board and organized into Pillars and Pods, a more flexible and modern approach to volunteering. Instead of long-term committee roles, members can now contribute in smaller “pods” based on interest and availability. For example:
This model makes it easier to participate in meaningful, bite-sized ways—no year-long commitments required. No matter your age or stage of life, the BFC has something for you. We invite you to connect, participate, and grow with the community. |
